How can the most incredible dog be found on the streets of Detroit, emaciated, with multiple bite wounds, heartworm positive at only 1-1/2 years of age? Probably dumped! This sweet boy probably had a home at one time…Thumper has manners and is well behaved.  All he wants is to be loved!

About a month ago good Samaritans found Thumper on the streets and didn’t want to drop him off at a shelter where he would run the risk of euthanasia.  They brought him to Tail Wagger’s and asked for our help. He was extremely thin with deep puncture wounds to his neck and face. As he was being held for clipping and cleaning of his wounds, his eyes closed and his head dropped to the shoulder of the restrainer.  His tail continued to wag and “thump” on the table.  He knew he was in a better place and that we would take care of him.  Thumper is well behaved, listens and minds well, walks well on a leash and loves everyone he comes in contact with. He is neutered and up to date on all his vaccines. With proper introductions he is good with cats and dogs.

Thumper is currently being treated for heartworm. Once he is finished with his treatment we hope to find him the most awesome home…as he is the most awesome dog!
